5 out of 5 stars Garmin Nuvi 265wt case   January 6, 2009

I would recommend getting a case to keep it clean and scratch free when not in use

4 out of 5 stars Nice, But I'd..............   January 6, 2009

This carrying case does what most people would want. It protects your GPS from screen scratches and light impacts. However, I consider it more of a slipcover than a case. My Nuvi 760 fits in very snugly and doesn't appear to want to fall out at this time. I don't know if it will loosen up with time and wear, but I think it will. The fit is so snug that it will actually drag the sliding power switch when you put it in or take it out. You want to make sure you put it in switch first, so that it won't turn itself on upon insertion. I would have preferred a little less snugness and a thin fold over flap with Velcro. There is no belt loop or clip if that is important to you. There are a lot of aftermarket choices so don't be afraid to shop around. So in summary, not a bad product, but it could be improved.

Very good quality and fit for nuvi 755T. Well padded - shold've been included with the unit (like the 350)

5 out of 5 stars Garvin Leather carrying case   January 3, 2009

Very good case, the garmin nuvi 760 fits in it very well and protects the device. I recommend it for anyone purchasing the garmin gps.

1 out of 5 stars Poor fit for the Garmin 760   December 31, 2008
Mary F. Barrett (Joliet, IL USA)
I purchased the garmin leather carrying case along with a stand and Garmin 760 for a Christmas gift to my husband. I have a Garmin 750 and had scratched the screen when I placed in my console, so I bought two carrying cases (one for my husband and one for me). When I opened the plastic cover and took out the case, I found I could not place my Garmin in the case without forcing it in. It is such a tight fit and the Garmin really doesn"t fit all the way in it. I am sure it will tear if I used this case.
Anyway,I thought the new Garmin might be sleeker and fit better than mine since the case was offered when I purchased the Garmin from Amazon. Low and behold, my husband's new Garmin is identical in size to mine and fits just as poorly. Why was this cas offered with a Garmin when the fit is such a poor one? I am now out over $30.00 because I opened one plastic package, and it is 10 days past the 15-day window for return. I am not at all happy about this purchase.

Reduce Gas Costs by Driving More Efficiently with GPS
By Jeremy Lakota

Whether the current cost of gasoline is affordable or astronomical, providing yourself or someone you love the assistance of a car GPS unit helps in many ways. Especially as both a wantonly punctual driver and consumer of motor fuel, the cost of which fluctuates quite regularly into very expensive. Our driving habits can help offset this cost.

Even for motorists who are filling up their tanks just weekly, adding a GPS device to even common commutes can show most efficient routes. Those that can save a great deal of gas because they are driven most days. A couple miles can really add up over the course of a work week. With any route that focuses more on town or city roads instead of highways, the small loss of engine efficiency should be considered, too. Especially for trips over eighty miles.

When buying a car GPS, it is important to look for ease-of-use features like touch screen display and voice activation. These common, but not universal, features provide an overall better experience. A large number of GPS owners who have been using car GPS for several years are repurchasing their GPS device or upgrading their GPS experience with new devices from companies like Garmin, TomTom, Magellan, Mio, and SureShot (a golf GPS device!).

For travelers who travel a lot or go to new locations often, using the most fuel-efficient route over a year can balance out the cost of a new car GPS device. A lot of the popular units go for between $200 and $500. And, if you want the overall best experience, you can get top-of-the-line for a mere starting price of around $600. With one of these you can be the envy of all your friends that have car GPS, too. Click here to see some great car GPS devices available now.
