Amazon.com Product Description When seeing your targets clearly is the goal, the Garmin Fishfinder 140 marine GPS is the one tool you need on your next fishing expedition. With 240 vertical pixels on a four level grayscale display, you get better separation and contrast so you'll know exactly where you're most likely to make the perfect catch. Like all of the new Garmin fishfinders, the 140 features Ultrascroll for fast screen updates, which is ideal for speed-based applications. This system also has a minimal amount of buttons and offers intuitive operation, so you'll spend less time learning how to use the Fishfinder 140, and more time reaping the fishing rewards. You won't even have to leave the sonar screen to change settings, thanks to a convenient adjustment bar. Designed to give you fast and clear information when you need it, the Fishfinder 140's new sounder design features excellent shallow water performance, including a patented transom/trolling mount, dual-beam transducer with user-selectable narrow (14 degrees) or wide (45 degrees) views to help you see more fish in shallow water, while the automatic display re-scaling on range change means no more vertical lines obscuring your readings. For added convenience, the power down backup feature ensures that your settings will not be lost when the unit is turned off. The Fishfinder 140 offers additional features, including a 2X and 4X automatic and manual zoom, 600 foot depth, and technology that shows weak and strong returns simultaneously, that make it easy and fun to find the perfect catch. And thanks to alarms for fish size, shallow water, deep water, and low battery (so your Fishfinder will never suddenly run out of power without warning), you'll have an informed advantage that will pay off in better fish stories than ever before. What's in the Box Fishfinder 140, transom mount transducer with integrated power cable, mounting bracket with tilt/swivel, and owner's manual.

Food depth finder for the money. February 1, 2010 Steve S Only was able to use the depth finder for a few months at the end of season last year and was very happy with it. Worth the money.
Depth finder October 15, 2009 D. Batcheller (Jacksonville, Florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good general purpose depth finder, we don't fish much but we do travel narrow back water channels as well as uncharted water, its easy to read even in the bright Florida sun. easy install but it does require a bigger hole through transom than other brands, its very accurate in shallows and when cruising on plane. I would buy this again.

Great Product for the price. Many features that are great for this model ( easy to operate & good graphics).Shipped on time & recieved it before the expected date .Straight out of the box to the boat on the water in a few minutes.
Only complaint is that Garmin has a big plug that has to have a 1" hole to get it through for such a small cable. Can't cut it & splice back together (factory says that it will void warranty & could mess up the graphics)
Great Price! September 12, 2009 Capt. Mike (The Atlantic, S/V Destiny II) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bang for the Buck... this is it. Works great & easy to read. Price was lower at Amazon than going to BPS located here. Unit was installed on a 13' Whaler.
Garmin Fishfinder 140 July 31, 2009 Darren W. White (Colorado) I purchased the Garmin Fishfinder 140 about a month ago and have used it on 3 different fishing trips. It has performed up to my high expectations! The set up was relatively quick and simple with some DIY experience. The menu and programming options are very simple and breezed through them without even consulting the owner's manual. Overall, I'm impressed with the unit and the options it comes with. I was looking at a few different Humminbird fishfinders, but since this one was consistently rated higher, and many people reviewed it so well, even though it was cheaper priced than Humminbird, I took a calculated risk. It paid off in spades. Garmin has made a good name for themselves (I have 2 other Garmin products that I've had for several years and have never had a problem with them) and this product is and should be no exception. Now, I'm goin' fishin'! lol
